Report has it that two Nigerian girls have been allegedly killed by their employers after being trafficked to work as housemaids in Saudi Arabia. It was gathered that the murder of the two young women occurred within a space of two weeks in the respective homes where they worked as servants by their Saudi bosses.   According to Satellite Times, the first Nigerian girl to be murdered was by name Omotayo who until her death in June 2018 worked as a migrant domestic worker in Riyadh. She reportedly sent this photo to her friends in a group chat called “Strong Nigerian Ladies” – a solidarity group created by Nigerian migrant domestic workers in Saudi Arabia. Omotayo, in her June post which happened to be her last, narrated to the solidarity group her latest incident of battery in the hands of the Saudi family she worked for. There was pandemonium in Amaigbo, Nwangele Local Government Area of Imo State on Saturday as some fleeing gunmen suspected to be kidnappers killed a man and abducted a lady believed to be the girlfriend of the deceased. The victim, Theo Mbakwe, popularly known as Chiboy, was shot dead in front of his parents.  A chieftain in the community, Ebubeagu Ekenulo, said the suspects fled with a girl in the victim’s vehicle, describing the killing as a shock to the community. He said, “Chiboy Theo Mbakwe, the first son of the late Chief T.T.C. Mbakwe – first indigenous paint manufacturer in Nigeria – was shot dead in front of their palatial country home in Amaigbo, Nwangele LGA, Imo State by suspected kidnappers, who made away with a yet-to-be-identified female in front of his car.” Another eyewitness said the fleeing killers did not tamper with the victim’s car and only dragged his female friend into the car before they sped off. Multiple people are dead after a male gunman, who died at the scene, opened fire on Sunday in Jacksonville, Florida, authorities said. In a live broadcast streamed on the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office’s Facebook page, Sheriff Mike Williams said there were “no outstanding suspects” aside from the one he confirmed died at the scene. Williams revealed that they would be releasing other details in the coming hours.
