Sex workers in Anambra State have threatened to starve policemen who patronise them over alleged harassment and arrest of their colleagues in major cities of the state. One of the sex workers, simply identified as Kamsi, who claimed to be a leader of the group of prostitutes in Umunze in the Orumba South Local Government Area of the state, told Saturday Punch that her members in the state had decided to starve policemen of sex. Kamsi said they would commence the decision as from Monday next week. She said, “These policemen constitute over 50 per cent of our customers, yet they come here at the garden to harass and intimidate us on daily basis. “About two days ago, no fewer than 10 of our members here were arrested and taken to SARS office. Ghanaians attack Nigerian traders in Kumasi market

Nigerian traders at Ghana’s Suame Magazine in Kumasi, Ashanti region of Ghana have cried out following incessant attacks by Ghanaians. The leaders of the Nigerian retailers accused the local retailers and the Ghana Union Traders Association (GUTA) of targeting its members and forcefully evicting them from their shops.  According to  Citi News,  the attacks began after the Ministry of Trade and Industry ordered all non-Ghanaian traders to leave the markets before the 27th of July, 2018 or face the wrath of the government. Following the order which was later reversed on grounds of inadequate sensitization, members of the Ghana Union Trader Association (GUTA) have continued to attack Nigerians and forcefully evict them from their shops, a Nigerian retailer said. Game of Thrones star Maisie Williams has launched her first non-acting venture. Maisie announced a new app called Daisie, which she co-founded alongside Dom Santry, on Wednesday. The app aims to bring creatives across industries together to share their work and set up potential collaborations. According to Business Insider, Maisie met Dom — a camera loader — on the set of the Netflix film, iBoy. The pair shared a feeling that they had creative friends, perhaps more talented than they, who couldn’t seem to get their ideas off the ground. They founded a film production company called Daisy Chain Productions, which will debut its first film at the Savannah Film Festival this October. After forming this conglomerate, the pair set their sights on something even bigger. Per the outlet, Maisie and Dom were having a chat about the shortcomings of the entertainment industry over beers at her apartment when Dom pitched Daisie, which he initially thought would be a website. American woman 'Kills 4-year-old autistic daughter by throwing her into a River'

Shakayla “Kayla” Denson has been charged with first-degree murder after eye witnesses claim she threw her 4-year-old daughter, Je’Hyrah Daniels into a river. According to a Tampa Police Department  press release , Denson had stolen a grey car with which she drove herself and her daughter to the Hillsborough river on Thursday. Upon entering the river, she threw Je’Hyrah in and walked away. The report adds that the little girl was discovered unconscious about 75 feet offshore. She was pronounced dead at a local hospital. While the motive of the murder is yet to be ascertained, the 26-year old mother had opened a GoFundMe page for Je’Hyrah, stating that she was diagnosed with Autism and she needed money to prepare for Je’Hyrah’s future. “My daughter was recently diagnose with autism spectrum, my goal is to start saving for therapy equipment, and also for je’hyrah’s future. Author of ‘Sizwe Banzi Is Dead’, Winston Ntshona has passed away. The South African playwright, actor and anti-apartheid activist died at the age of 76. According to  Times Live,   the Tony award winning playwright had been ill for the last 8 years. Speaking on his passing, his son Lawula said: “ Thus far we are just reeling in shock but we are coming together as a family.” Ntshona has won numerous awards for his contribution to theatre‚ including the prestigious Tony Award in 1975 for writing and acting in ‘Sizwe Banzi Is Dead’.
