  Many Nigerian stars have been spotted at the ongoing 2018 Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF2018). The stars include actresses, Genevieve Nnaji, Somkele Idhalama and Cynthia Erivo. Genevieve attended the premiere of her directorial debut movie “Lionheart” over the weekend. For the event, the star actress looked red hot on the red carpet as she opted for a red pantsuit and we’re so here for it. Over the weekend, Somkele Idhalama attended the Share Her Journey campaign at the TIFF 2018, and the award-winning actress looked stylish in a white dress, which she rocked with white flat shoes and finished off her look with her afro. A day after he officially declared his bid for a second term, Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State, is facing impeachment threat, TheCable has reported. The impeachment threat is not unconnected to an ongoing rift between Ambode and APC national leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu. Ambode had on Monday obtained his expression of interest and nomination forms at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja. Quoting credible sources, TheCable, on Tuesday claimed 57 council chairmen, who are fiercely loyal to Tinubu, have met and pledged their support to his preferred candidate, Jide Sanwo-Olu. Ambode now faces the task of beating Sanwo-Olu and another APC stalwart, Obafemi Hamzat, in the primary. The priests, entire Catholic faithful and Christians of the Catholic Diocese of Orlu  and beyond woke up from sleep on the 11th September with the sad news of the assassination of Rev Fr Jude Egbom whose sad event happened on the evening of 10th of September 2018. Fr Jude Egbom who visited his home town Umuwala that very day, decided to have a hair cut at Nkwerre not knowing that the heavy hands of death were already at hand.  It was gathered that Fr Egbom who was with his junior seminarian was shot severally at the chest by  unknown gun men at the hair saloon to the extent that stray bullet hit one of those running for their lives, and the seminarian wheavily wounded. Fr. Jude Egbom is a priest of the Catholic Diocese of Orlu and presently the Parish priest of St Patrick's Parish Amucha.

The eldest son of Usman Sa’ad Abubakar, the Sultan of Sokoto, popularly called Amir, has been involved in an accident. Amir, whose name means “leader” and was named after Sheik Usman Fodio, was driving at a very high speed of over 200km/hr around 12noon within Sokoto Airport Road, in an area called Bado, when the accident happened. With him in the car were Khalifa Maccido, son of Aliyu Macciddo, and a girl he allegedly imported from Kaduna to have fun with. Amir, believed to have been dismissed from a UK school due to his drunkenness, was seen earlier on Sunday leaving a guesthouse with the girl and his friend Khalifa. He was taken to the Usman Danfodio Teaching Hospital, where he has been unconscious. Born and raised in Nigeria, Francis Anwana was just 14 years old when he came to the United States on a student visa. He was deaf, couldn't talk, and had cognitive disabilities, enrolling at the Michigan School for the Deaf in Flint. Now 48, Anwana lives in Detroit at an adult foster care facility, helping mow the lawns and mop the floors at a nearby church on Detroit's west side. But in a shock to immigrant advocates, the U.S. now wants to deport Anwana to Nigeria, a country he has not lived since he was a teenager. Given his severe disabilities, it would be a virtual "death sentence" for him, said Susan Reed, an attorney with the Michigan Immigrant Rights Center. Because of his disability, Anwana can only read at a second-grade level and is unable to mentally grasp the fact he could be forced to go back to Nigeria, according to advocates and his lawyer. A famous 87-year-old Russian actor is divorcing his 27-year-old wife because she has refused to have sex with him. Ivan Krasko, famous for more than 140 roles in Soviet and Russian movies, wed Natalia Krasko in September of 2015. However he said that almost immediately she had started refusing sex – because she was worried about getting pregnant. CREDIT: TORONTO FILM FESTIVAL Netflix  has bought worldwide rights to Genevieve Nnaji’s comedy “ Lionheart ” on the eve of its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival. Netflix  announced the deal Friday. The film will premiere at TIFF on Saturday. “Lionheart” marks the first Netflix original film from Nigeria. Nnaji stars with Nkem Owoh, Pete Edochie, and Onyeka Onwenu. The story follows a daughter who’s forced to work with her feckless uncle in order to save her father’s ailing bus company. Nnaji plays Adaeze, a level-headed executive in her father’s bus company, Lionheart Transport. When her father (played by Edochie) falls ill, both she and her rival (Kalu Egbui Ikeagwu) are passed over in favor of the uncle, played by Owoh. Complications arise when they discover that the family business is in dire financial straits — leading to absurd results as they try to save the company. Ariana Grande's ex-boyfriend, Mac Miller died on Friday, aged just 26. The rapper, real name Malcolm James McCormick, was was found at around noon at his San Fernando Valley home and was pronounced dead at the scene following an apparent drug overdose, TMZ reports. Mac had been having trouble with substance abuse recently following his break up from Ariana. His most recent album, Swimming, was just released on August 3 and was due to go on tour next month. On Thursday night, Mac had posted a video of a record player with a song from one of his albums playing. In his last post on Twitter, he told his followers: "I just wanna go on tour."  -   A man has been killed while fighting a man he caught having sex with his wife at their home in Umoja estate, Nairobi. The deceased identified as Dickson Jared Samba met his sad fate on Thursday, September 6, at around midnight, moments after getting home from a hang out with friends at a local entertainment joint. He reportedly returned home to find another man having sex his wife. A fight between him and his wife’s lover ensued and they took it to the balcony where the lover overpowered the husband and pushed him over the rails of the balcony of the 4th floor. The deceased fell head first and landed on a rail where he bled out and died on the spot.

Harrysong's management some hours ago, released a statement over an Instagram post the singer published on Wednesday. Harrysong had his fans worried after he shared a post talking about his depression.  A statement by Alterplate Spokesman, Desmond China, said the singer had been suffering depression but that arrangements have been made to provide him psychological help. Harrysong has now revealed that he’s undergoing some therapy sessions in a bid to get his feet back on the ground. Theo Ukpaa, Emilia Samuel, Lnda Ikeji Popular blogger, Linda Ikeji, has written an open letter to hir former senior staff, Theo Ukpaa, who is facing allegation of rape. One Emilia Samuel had accused Theo of raping her and taking her virginity away at just the age of 16. The allegation against Ukpaa came just two days after his wedding. Emilia, who is now married with two children, had revealed that her path and Theo’s crossed when she made it to the top three of a spice girl competition organised by entertainment channel, Soundcity. Emilia had in a  post on Instagram  revealed that she already went past the trauma but had to relive it when she came across Theo Ukpaa on social media.
