Ekiti Assembly Members Reject Pay Cut, Want Salary Increase


The Ekiti State House of Assembly has rejected the proposal by the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission for the slash of salaries and emoluments of members of the legislature, both at federal and state levels.
The assembly took the position on Monday while assessing its activities in the last 100 days.
Speaker of the House, Kola Oluwawole, said he had expected RMAFC to review salaries and allowances of members upward to encourage them to do more work rather than slashing it.
“I expect the RMAFC to even jack up the salaries so that we will be able to do more projects in our constituencies,” the Speaker sad. “We want the Federal Government to increase our allowances and benefits , because we are the closest to the masses, particularly the poor ones , rather than thinking of pay cut.”
The Chairman of the Commission, Elias Mbam, had indicated recently that lawmakers and other political office holders would get a slash of their current pay.
He said the review became necessary because many government agencies, states and local governments had been struggling to pay salaries as a result of the sharp drop in oil price.
According to Mr. Mbam, the downward review of the remuneration did not start with the present administration as the commission had started the review process since last year.

Ronaldo Jr exceeds dad, scores four goals on Juventus debut

Cristiano Ronaldo is yet to score for Juventus after three games, but  son found the net four times on his debut with the Under-9 team. Cristiano Ronaldo Jr, wearing his father’s iconic no. 7 shirt, scored four as his team ‘Pulcini’ category of youth team beat Lucento 5-1 on Saturday. It was reported last week that Cristiano Jnr, 8, had joined Juve’s academy side after being on the books at Real Madrid. Sun reports the youngster was in lethal form as he found the net four times in front of step-mum, Georgina Rodriguez. Ronaldo had previously revealed his hope that his son would follow in his footsteps and make it as a professional. Just a few years back, in the year 1999 Nigeria experienced a change in the telecommunication  sector with the introduction of the GSM phone which I call "general street madness". Headless body of a lady found along PH road Owerri

According to Facebook user Frank Oluigbo, the headless body of a lady was discovered this morning along the Port-Harcourt road Owerri, on a closer look it was discovered that her breast was also cut off. When there is a crime, the first thing to do is to attend to the victims of the  crime and help them in any way you can then go after the criminals, when the criminal are eventually caught the next line of action is either to punish them or forgive them but off course forgiving them will mean they are sober and feel sorry for the crime they have committed and willing to make amends. 'Game Of Thrones' Season 8 Release Date Might Be Later Than We Thought

Winter is coming ... with a little bit of a delay. Earlier this year, rumor had it that “Game of Thrones” Season 8 would begin airing sometime in April 2019. The gossip started with a quote Maisie Williams allegedly gave Metro in the U.K., which she later denied. Still, fans hopped on the date and rally around it to this day. And, hey, a release earlier in the year makes sense. HBO’s president of programming, Casey Bloys, said the show would be premiering in the first half of 2019. And in order to qualify for the Emmy Awards in ’19, a series must air between June 1, 2018, and May 31, 2019. So if HBO wanted the final season of “Game of Thrones” to be considered in the next Emmys, it would have to air before the end of May. Alas, I’m here to tell you, our April watch has ended. LOL(Lots of laughter) & LMAO(Laughing my ass off)

"LOL(lots of laughter)" "LMAO(laughing my ass off)" a popular abbreviation people use on Social Media to express their selves when they want to give the impression that they are laughing... But after much investigation the report on my table shows if 100 people should use the phrase "LOL" or "LMAO"... The photo shows Argento and Jimmy posing for a romantic selfie, from the photo it looked like they just finished making out. Argento had previously denied having any romantic relationship with the 17 years old. At the time of this photo was taken , Bennet was 17 and Argento 37. The New York times reported that months after Argento accused Weinstein of rape , Argento agreed to pay 'hush money' to Bennet after he accused of sexual assault. Argento denied the allegations in the newspaper in a statement first reported Tuesday by the Huffington Post, saying, "I am deeply shocked and hurt by having read news that is absolutely false. I have never had any sexual relationship with Bennett."
