Beyoncé fans go wild after singer tells Vogue she's embraced her FUPA - 'Fat Upper Pubic Area' since having twins
While Beyoncé talked about a lot on her new Vogue cover story from working on her marriage to Jay-Z to how much weight she gained while pregnant with her twins. It was her comment about her pubic regions that sent social media users running wild.
Speaking to the magazine for its September issue, the 36-year-old music superstar revealed that her body had changed quite a bit since carrying Rumi and Sir, but for now she is still at peace with with having a FUPA.
Unsurprisingly, fans were surprised by her use of the acronym, and flew to social media to share reactions, jokes, and memes about it.
'To this day my arms, shoulders, breasts, and thighs are fuller,' Beyoncé wrote in a series of lengthy paragraphs that are published in the new issue. 'I have a little mommy pouch, and I'm in no rush to get rid of it.'
She continued: 'I think it's real. Whenever I'm ready to get a six-pack, I will go into beast zone and work my ass off until I have it.
'But right now, my little FUPA and I feel like we are meant to be.'
FUPA — pronounced 'foo-pa' — is an acronym for Fat Upper Pelvic Area, and is used to describe a particularly large mons pubis, the soft tissue above the genitalia.
While it can be due to several factors including genetic and weight gain, some women experience a larger or fattier mons pubis area after pregnancy and childbirth.
Another potential cause is diet. Inflammatory foods and processed meals, such as alcohol, high fructose corn syrup, and fast food with high sodium content
And typically, the word is used in a more derogatory way, meant to embarrass women who have one — which is perhaps why so many people are thrilled with the way Beyoncé owned it.
